Money Talk

Last night on the Living ADD / ADHD Radio Show I interviewed John MacKenzie author of the blog Adult ADD and Money. We had a really great conversation about how ADHD affects finances and money.  If you missed it you can listen to it here.

One of the things we discussed is the fact that some people try and take advantage of the weaknesses of adults with ADHD and try to make money off them. Impulsive decision making and not paying close attention to detail can get people with ADHD into trouble financially. Before you make an important financial decision or give out any financial information make sure you understand what you are agreeing to.

Nice posts and I appreciate the information on the radio show..

Money seems to be a common coaching theme for our ADD Clients. I'm finding that it doesn't matter how much money we have. The subject comes up accross all economic levels. Sometimes identifying old worn out beliefs and attitudes about money is the first step to improved money management. I talk about this on my blog http://addtolifecoaching.com and share my own story about My Love Affair With Money.

This sadly, is so true. How many people (me, included) have the patience to read agreements and contracts? Best to have someone you trust go over them with you before you sign on *any* dotted line.
