Before blogs, podcasts, social media, or webinars were normal

In 1997, I started helping adults with ADHD online.

Not with a polished website.
Not with a brand.
Not with social media.
Not with a podcast.

Because none of that existed yet.

What we had were early internet tools like:

  • Yahoo Groups

  • ADHD web rings

  • AngelFire pages

  • GeoCities websites

That’s where this began.

I built early AngelFire and GeoCities websites for adults with ADHD. I ran Yahoo Groups. I participated in ADHD web rings. I helped create some of the earliest online spaces where adults with ADHD could connect and say:

“Wait… you struggle with this too?”

There weren’t many resources back then.
There weren’t many voices.
Adults with ADHD were mostly left to figure things out on their own.

So I started building places where they didn’t have to.

💻 1999 — My First Domain: LivingWithADD.com

In 1999, I registered my first domain name and launched LivingWithADD.com.

What started on AngelFire and GeoCities finally had a permanent home.

This became one of the earliest websites dedicated specifically to adults with ADHD — offering support, information, and connection when almost no one online was talking about adult ADHD at all.

This was dial-up modem internet.

And adults with ADHD were finding it anyway.

☎️ 2004 — ADDClasses.com (Before Webinars Were a Thing)

In 2004, I launched ADDClasses.com.

But we didn’t start with webinars.

We started with teleclasses.

People literally called in on the phone to learn from ADHD experts. No slides. No video. Just a phone line and a notepad.

As technology improved, those teleclasses became teleseminars.

And eventually… webinars.

But the mission never changed:

Make expert ADHD education accessible to adults who needed practical help in real time.

Long before online learning platforms were normal, ADDClasses was bringing ADHD education directly to adults wherever they were.

✍️ 2005 — My ADD/ADHD Blog

In 2005, I started My ADD/ADHD Blog.

It went on to become an award-winning blog focused on real-life strategies that actually work for adults with ADHD.

Not theory.
Not clinical language.
Just practical help.

🎙️ 2008 — ADHD Support Talk Radio

In 2008, I launched an ADHD Podcast.

Back when most people didn’t know what a podcast was.

Today, ADHD Support Talk Radio is the longest-running podcast devoted specifically to adults with ADHD.

Hundreds of episodes.
Years of conversations.
Practical, usable support.

🌍 2010 — ADHD Awareness Expo

In 2010, I created the ADHD Awareness Expo.

An online event bringing ADHD education to adults around the world.

What started as an idea has now helped tens of thousands of adults access ADHD education from their own homes.

🎤 Speaking Beyond My Own Platforms

Over the years, I’ve also been invited to speak at ADHD conferences and online events beyond my own platforms.

I’ve presented at:

  • International ADHD Conferences

  • The Attention Deficit Disorder Association (ADDA) Conference

  • The ADHD Coaches Conference

  • Virtual ADHD Conference

  • ADHD Women’s Palooza

  • See Beyond ADHD Summit

  • Crush Your ADHD Summit

  • Succeed with ADHD Telesummit

These invitations allowed me to reach even more adults with ADHD and share practical strategies with audiences around the world.

🏆 Along the Way

Some milestones happened too:

  • Volunteer of the Year — ADDA (2004)

  • Senior Certified ADHD Coach (2008)

  • Co-author of 365 Ways to Succeed with ADHD

  • Award-winning podcast and blog

But those aren’t what I’m most proud of.

❤️ What I’m Most Proud Of

I’m proud that for nearly three decades, adults with ADHD have had a place to turn.

A place to learn.
A place to feel understood.
A place to get real, practical help.

Tens of thousands of adults have:

  • Taken classes

  • Listened to the podcast

  • Attended events

  • Read the blog

  • Worked with me directly

And I’m still here doing this work.

🤔 Why I’m Sharing This Now

Because when people search for adult ADHD resources today, they often see newer voices and newer platforms.

And they don’t realize there’s a long history behind this work.

I’ve been building adult ADHD support online since the earliest days of the internet.

Before it was trendy.
Before it was common.
Before there was an ADHD industry.

🎧 Want Me to Share This Story With Your Audience?

If you host a podcast, run a blog, organize events, or speak to audiences about ADHD, I’d love to share more of this journey and what I’ve learned along the way.

I’m always happy to talk about:

  • The early days of adult ADHD support online

  • How ADHD education has evolved over the decades

  • Practical strategies that still work today

  • What adults with ADHD really need (that often gets overlooked)

Feel free to reach out if you’d like to interview me or invite me to speak to your audience.
