As an ADD Coach I know how important accomplishing goals are to people with ADD. This one of the most common things that I work with my ADD Coaching clients. As an ADD Coach I am so happy when my clients share with me how great they feel when they do accomplish goals. But, as a person with ADD myself I sometimes forget first hand how great those feelings can be.
It’s not that I don’t "practice what I preach" but sometimes I just forget to step back and look at some of the things I actually have accomplished. As a person with ADD it is too easy to just automatically focus on things that need to be done or things that I was not able to do. Very recently I was able to to accomplish a couple of goals and also recongnize that I accomplished these goals.
I don’t think it’s important for me to give the specific of these goals because I know that I accomplished them and I feel great about doing so. The accomplishments have also been helping me with some of the monotonous chores that I hate doing. I am also beginning to realize that they too are accomplishments too feel great about.
