I wish I could take credit for the idea of 5 just 5. I don’t remember specifically who came up with idea but I read it in one of the monthly newsletters from The National Center for Gender Issues and ADHD. One major issue for many people with ADD can be getting started on projects. Like I have suggested before, breaking things down into smaller chunks can be very helpful. Starting with just 5 items or 5 steps can be great for people with ADD.

Here are 5 things at a time that I as a person with Adult ADD am able to do:

  • wash 5 dishes
  • throw away 5 pieces of trash
  • clean 5 items off my desk
  • read 5 paragraphs
  • write 5 paragraphs
  • fold 5 pieces of clothing
  • put 5 dishes away

What are 5 just 5 things you can do?

I don’t really suffer with ADD anymore (I was diagnosed about 10 years ago), but how about throw away five pieces of junk mail? 🙂

5 things I can do at once:

      Keep 5 websites/blogs
      Take 5 pills
List 5 things to do on my calendar
      Buy 5 books
      Eat 5 yogurts (really!)
