I was just reading an article on About.com about ADD and Driving. I like the article for the most part however I disagree with the first tip given. It is to keep your cell phone in the trunk while you are driving. I understand that the point of this is to prevent the cell phone from distracting the driver.
I just don’t think this is a practical or even safe tip to be giving people. If you have ever broken down on a busy highway or on a strange dark road you probably know what I mean. It’s just not safe to get out of your car to walk around to the trunk.
Maybe a better tip would be to turn your cell phone off and put in the back seat of your car. That way if you do break down you don’t have to get out of your car and risk being side swiped by on coming traffic or attacked by something or somebody hiding in the woods.

This is a great site and that is a wonderful post. I would agree with your assessment and say that it is safer to at least keep the phone in the car. Great job.
Another idea is to use a hands free head set if you have to leave the phone on for some reason. I never answer my phone if I am driving I just let it go and answer when I get there I seen too many other people driving badly while on the phone. It’s one of my pet peeves.
