I recently recently received this email from a woman whose husband has ADD.

My husband has ADD along with a learning disability. His parents and I continously encourage him to do things (lists, structure, meds, coaching etc) to help himself. We are still stuck. Is there any books on boundaries to set with spouse when is not ready to make positive changes.

I could be that her husband is not emotionally ready for ADD Coaching and the other things that she and his parents are trying to support him in trying.

I highly recommend 2 books for this woman to read. The first is Living With ADD When You’re Not the One Who Has It which is specifically for partners and spouses of adults with ADD. The second book is Journeys Through ADDulthood which gives a deeper understanding of the emotional issues related to adult ADD.
