Holiday About a week ago I blogged about the fact that I was planning to send out Holiday Cards. Well a week later I haven’t really made much progress. The date of December 10th that I was shooting for didn’t happen. Now, I have some pressure on me because I really need to get them out by early next week! A good portion of the cards I’m sending are to people’s work places. If they don’t get them by next Friday many won’t get them until after Christmas and some until after the new year.

So, I guess it’s time for me to re-evaluate my plan for getting out the Holiday cards. The original one that I had really didn’t seem to work as well a I wanted it to. I’m going to sit down and look at what parts of it did work and what parts of it didn’t work. From there I’m going to tweak the plan a bit and come up with one that will hopefully work better for me.

By the way is offering the audio class How to Skate Through the Holidays with AD/HD by instructor Sheri Hall for free until 12/20/07 at 11:59 pm EST. I’m sure many of my blog readers are a bit stressed out by the holidays like I am!

Trend retrofits grinder at sandusky international One of the Siemens retrofit partners, Trend Machinery, Inc. of Willowbrook, Ill., recently completed a job on a four axis, CNC Normac grinder at Sandusky International in Ohio. The machine is used to resharpen the gun drills that put thousands of holes into paper mill rollers. The grinder was no longer holding permissible tolerance positions, and replacement parts and service were getting increasingly difficult to obtain. As Bob Gordon, president of Trend Machinery, explains, “The machine was sent to us, as it was not difficult to transport for evaluation. We determined what the equipment needed, including a Siemens CNC Vertical Lathe to replace the original control, as well as 611U drives and 1FT6 motors, also from Siemens. An entirely new control console and enclosure were customized for Sandusky. We also replaced all the electronic hardware such as starters and relays.” Additionally, all limit switches were replaced, motor mounts were modified and the grinding spindle was repaired.
